Large North Idaho hospital seeking a quality Medical Biller with 1+ yrs. experience.........

Position Summary:
Performs account review and data correction duties to promote clean claims submissions to all commercial and government payer types, and to patients, and to support the Revenue Cycle Billing and Accounts Receivable Collections functions.

Monday through Friday
7:00am - 4:30pm (flexible scheduling after training period/depending on experience)

* Review, research and clear claims edits, to include registration ('Front-End'), billing and charging edits
* Check insurance eligibility to verify coverage
* Research and correct demographic, insurance coverage and order, and other required data elements in hospital and professional billing system [EHR(s)], as may be needed to ensure clean claims submissions.
* As needed, refer to insurance provider billing manuals or contact insurance carriers to clarify or update billing requirements
* Perform charge/data entry in support of billing and other Revenue Cycle functions
* Research and resolve unbillable claims
* Cross-train to provide support to Registration, Customer Service, Billing and Accounts Receivable Collections functions
* Interacts with patients, clinicians, insurers, and billing management to ensure timely billing of accounts
* Perform duties in compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements, and Kootenai Health policies and procedures governing Revenue Cycle compliant processes
* Performs other related duties as assigned
* Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
* Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
* Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
* Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Job Requirements


Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma required, some college preferred
1. One-year experience working in a hospital or medical office with current commercial and government payer types, and understanding of payment methodologies
2. One-year experience working in a hospital or professional medical billing system
3. Charge/data entry skills sufficient to maintain workload at Steady State
4. Medical terminology familiarity preferred
5. Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills required
6. Ability to work well in a team environment, and independently with minimum supervision
7. Knowledge and demonstrated competence working with Microsoft Office software, to include Excel, Word, and e-mail programs
